Our experienced course instructors have decades of experience to share as practitioners and teachers of Herbal Medicine & Aromatherapy. AC and Gabriel share a long-held passion for Plant Medicine and natural healing as well as for sustainable, regenerative herbcraft, engaging and empowering learning, and community building.

Gabriel brings to the Institute four decades of experience as a practitioner and teacher of clinical herbalism, aromatherapy. His approach to medicinal plants has a strong aromatic and energetic emphasis based on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), combined with an appreciation of the scientific activities of herbs and essential oils. Gabriel’s internationally published book Aromatherapy for Healing the Spirit reflects, too, his interest in plant symbolism.

AC brings to the Institute her experience as an herbalist, herb farmer, product-maker, educator and podcaster who has been growing herbs since 2012. From her herb farm in central New York, on traditional lands of the native Oneida, she grows hundreds of varieties of medicinal herbs, fruits, trees and fungi. Classes are recorded in case you miss one, though we encourage everyone who can to join them live to enjoy our engaging and fun class sessions.

We also host periodic Office Hours which provide a chance to meet-up with and ask us questions or discuss topics. Office Hours change based on the cohort's time-zones and availability.

Each of our 3-hour Sunday School webinars commencing November 1st 2025 starts at 8 AM Pacific Time/ 9 AM Mountain Time/ 10 AM Central Time/ 11 AM Eastern Time/ 12 PM São Paulo time/ 4 PM London time/ 12 AM (Mon) Tokyo time/ 1 AM Sydney (Mon) time.

There's a 15 minute break in the middle of the class or two 10 minute breaks. 

All sessions are recorded. 

We encourage you to come live and have your video on and be ready to interact. We expect at least 80% attendance in order to receive the Full Diploma Program. 

The full course fee for the 8 month Diploma Program is $2000 total for the 30 sessions, paid by the first day of class, Nov 1, 2026 or in monthly installments of $250. We offer Early Bird Discounts and several scholarships each year.

You can withdraw from the course at any time. The Diploma Course fee installments are non-refundable for the months that you attend the school, however monthly installments can be cancelled in cases of course withdrawal, so no further fees incur. 

If you paid in full at the Early-Bird Rate and decide to withdraw at any point during the course, we will refund you 80% of the equivalent sum due if you had been paying in installments (which accounts for our discount and processing fees). 

Part of the program is helping you figure out where to source herbs locally to you. We also encourage use of common wild 'weeds' that can be found outside your door. We know many different bio-regions will be represented by our students from all over the world, so part of the fun will be finding herbs that work in the ways you're looking for in your own neighborhood as well as sourcing some plant medicines from online sources or in person herb shops. 

Yes, there are three books we require students purchase for the Diploma Program and quizzes that coincide with the main text book.

Students will have a course project. We ask students to choose a topic to either write a research paper or a plant monograph and present their work to the class in a 15 minute presentation or workshop. 

There are periodic tasks students are encouraged to make to incorporate herbs into their lives and build their own apothecaries. We will have herbal medicine show and tells and apothecary shares to encourage each other to keep making more herbal remedies. 

The main assignment we ask students to complete to receive the Full Diploma is 20 case studies which consist of interviewing 20 people for an initial 1 hour consult, providing recommendations vetted by AC and Gabriel and then a 30 minute follow up with the person to see how things are going. These 20 case studies can be submitted by January 1, 2027, six months after the last live session. 

We also offer a Certificate of Completion for people who attend the classes, complete most of the quizzes and reading assignments but don't want to be Clinical Herbalists and do the Case Studies. Some students are interested in participating in the live classes and learning for their own knowledge and for helping friends and family rather than opening or expanding their own Clinical Practice. So we are offering both the Certificate of Completion and the Full Diploma for those who do all of the required assignments and case studies.
