Actaea Integrated Diploma Course
Our Integrated Diploma Course in Herbal Medicine and Clinical Aromatherapy is a ‘hybrid’ program combining an in-person Part One 9-day 'Summer School' at the Bark Eater Inn retreat center with an on-line Part Two 9-month 'Sunday School' of 35 live & recorded 3-hour webinars wth AC & Gabriel. If you can't attend the Summer School, you can start the Diploma program by joining the webinar series, starting Sept 7th 2025.

Our 'Sunday School' series of 35 three-hour webinars is an advanced program of study in the practical, scientific and energetic dimensions of Herbal Medicine and Aromatherapy, including the cultivation, medicine-making, and clinical application of 200 medicinal and aromatic herbs, together with an overview of the body systems, TCM energetic diagnosis, and living in reciprocity with the land.
Mentorship
Enrollment comes with one-to-one mentorship to help guide you in achieving your vision and goals as an Herbalist and/or Aromatherapist.

Expert guidance
Our Diploma Course is unique in combining in one live course the skills and knowledge required for forging or further developing Clinical Herbalism and Aromatherapy as a professional practice, product-making or retail business. AC and Gabriel are passionate about sharing their knowledge and expertise and, between them, have over 50 years of experience working with and teaching Herbalism and Aromatherapy.
Herb Craft
Our program features a deep-dive into sustainable Herb Craft — encompassing the growing and preparation of herbs for extraction and distillation as tinctures and extracts; liniments and ointments; and essential oils and hydrosols. AC teaches how to craft herbal-infused oils; vinegars and oxymels; syrups and electuaries; tinctures and fluid extracts; mushroom powders; liniments (topical herbal-infused rubbing alcohols); salves and creams; infusions, decoctions and tea blends, and more!
Clinical skills
A deeply-rooted approach to assessing and treating clients with herbs, hydrosols and essential oils based on the TCM Diagnostic Patterns of Disharmony, Yin-Yang and the Five Elements, and techniques including tongue and face diagnosis – together with the compelling research evidence for the benefits of herbs and essential oils and their key chemical compounds — empowering practitioners with an integrated pharmaco-energetic understanding of how 200 different plant medicines exert their therapeutic actions.
